A Cheat Sheet for Your Kids

I’m going to share with you something I did for my parents to help them with taking care of my two toddlers. It only took a few minutes for me to put it together and proved to be of immense value to them. It felt a little over-the-top, but it helped my family, helped me and I believe it can help you too.

The Background

My parents were taking care of my two toddler-aged girls overnight for a few days. My wife and I had some property renovation work to do and the kids needed to be out of the way since it will be hard work and not suitable for children. Because of the pandemic, my parents have not seen their grandchildren for almost a year. The girls have changed a lot since then. They are their own little people with needs, wants, and desires. I know their quirks but I’m not sure my parents do. It would be unfamiliar surroundings for my kids and also a big change in routine for my parents.

As a solution for this, I decided to put together a one-page document, detailing the key things about my kids I thought they should know. A Cheat Sheet, to help their time together.

At first, I thought their response would be one of resistance. ‘We don’t need this, we’ll be fine’ sort of thing. But actually, I received quite the opposite…
